Industry Engagement

Engaging directly with the sport, fitness and recreation industry throughout Queensland is a central part of what the Skills Alliance does.

Forums and workshops

We connect with the industry through forums, conferences, workshops, one-on-one meetings and by undertaking research. Our visits take us all over the state from Brisbane to Cairns, from Roma to Mt Isa.

Skills Alliance forums and meetings can include guest speakers, discussion groups and the chance for people to network with those who have similar jobs and/or business interests within the sport, fitness and recreation industry.

Sometimes we partner with training programs such as the Queensland government's Small Business Solutions and help bring these programs to the industry.

Research and surveys

Research through surveys and interviews is another vital part of the Skills Alliance's industry engagement. This enables us to gather market intelligence on workforce skilling needs and the current state of the industry. In turn, we feed this information back to the government and education sector to help improve standards and ensure targeted and relevant training. We also publish this research and make it available to the industry.
